Dr. Xavier Berthet is a passionate leader at the intersection of life sciences and mathematics, currently heading scientific and biomedical research at the Institut Pasteur de Dakar. With a foundational background as a biotechnology engineer, he pursued a PhD and postdoctoral training in microbiology before spending a decade in the pharmaceutical industry, where he focused on research, technology transfer, and business development Driven by a desire to expand the impact of science beyond the lab, he later returned to academia, earning Master’s degrees in business administration, mobile programming and digital compositing /VFX, as as well as a running a consultancy agency. Today, his mission is to translate scientific innovation into tangible, transformative success stories globally especially in limited resource settings.
