
Dr. Mungeyi is a Manager for Biosafety at the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST), Namibia. NCRST is an agency of the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture (MEIYSAC) mandated to coordinate research, science, and technology in Namibia. He is a focal person coordinating the implementation of the National Sustainable Bioeconomy strategy (2024/2029). Dr. Mungeyi is qualified in different areas and has extensive experience in many fields. He obtained PhD in Natural Resource Sciences (Agriculture) at the Namibian University of Science and Technology, 2024, a Master in business administration (MBA) from the Australian Institute of Business in 2016, a Master in environmental management from the University of Stellenbosch in 2010, and a BSc. in Natural Resources and Conservation from the University of Namibia in 2005A national liaison person: The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) responsible for vetting of research topics in Biotechnology aimed at making social economic impacts in line with our national development plans. Dr. Mungeyi is a member of the International Advisory Council on Global Bioeconomy (IACGB) and the FAO-led International Sustainable Bioeconomy Working Group (ISBWG). Dr. Mungeyi was part of the team developing the World Food Programme`s Country`s Second Generation Strategic Plan 2025/2029. Dr. Mungeyi continues supervising students pursuing their PhDs and master’s studies
