
Dr Naidoo is a principal researcher within the CSIR Future Production Chemicals cluster, an honorary lecturer at University of Cape Town, Faculty of Health Sciences and an extraordinary lecturer at the University of Pretoria, Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences. Jerolen obtained his PhD from the University of Cape Town with a specialization in cell and molecular biology. His current research focuses on functional precision medicine at the intersection of translational clinical research. Jerolen leads the CSIR Microbiome Mapping Initiative (CMMI) and co-leads the CSIR African Clinical Multiome Atlas Platform (African Clin-MAP). Clin-MAP seeks to create a pan-African integrated clinical multiome (genome, transcriptome, microbiome and proteome) data repository to democratise local precision medicine efforts, foster sustainable R&D efforts and catalyse African health innovation.
